The Office of Religious Education is the means by which the bishop, head of the community and teacher of doctrine, directs and regulates all catechetical activity in the diocese. Its responsibilities include the formation of parish directors of religious education, coordinators of religious education, and catholic schools catechists through the Pastoral Institute.
The Office of Religious Education is charged with the development of catechetical programs, resources and materials, and to assist parishes and schools in catechetical related issues. The office develops special sacramental preparation guidelines with the approval of the bishop, for use in the diocese. The office maintains catechetical resources for the use of parishes throughout the diocese.

Community Role
The role of the Office of Religious Education is to develop effective, informed and faithful catechetical leadership, and to serve as a resource for pastors, administrators and directors of religious education regarding materials and activities in the Diocese of Corpus Christi.
Vision
We believe that catechesis is a lifelong process, whereby adult faith formation is the focal point from which all catechesis flows. Its purpose is to make individual and communal faith become living, concious, and active through illuminative instruction and the building of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. In Jesus Christ is the fullness of our common humanity and in His incrnational presence is the model for all catechisis; catechesis which seeks to reach the heart if each person where they stand and raise them up into the inner life of the Most Holy Trinity. In Light of this reality, we seek to evangelize the whole community, sensitive to the cultural and linguistic needs of the People of God that we serve.
