The bishops of the United States are asking that Catholics observe Fortnight for Freedom with “all the energies the Catholic community can muster” to advance our struggle for religious freedom currently under attack. The bishops urge an intensification of prayers and fasting for a new birth of freedom in our country.
The Fortnight for Freedom will conclude with the Mass for Independence Day in all parishes. There will also be a nationally televised Mass from the National Basilica in Washington D.C.
