Sharing is Caring - Odyssey HealthCare

Sharing your time as a volunteer with Odyssey HealthCare you will be part of a team who can contribute to an improved quality of life for patients near the end of life. No matter what your talents, or interest, every volunteer contributes in a different manner. Such as; Patient Visit Volunteer which is visiting our patients to provide companionship and support through conversation, leisure activities (ex: reading or playing games) or by being a supportive presence. Also may provide the opportunity for respite, so that the caregiver can take some time away to take care of him or herself. Administrative Volunteer: Provide office support through clerical duties, such as data entry, filing, or phone calling.

The Cottage Resale Shop at Driscoll Children's Hospital is in need of committed volunteers to share their time and talents 3 or 4 hours a week or more. All the proceeds raised benefit the hospital. Angel Bright Hospice, Inc.
Located at 3213 Holly Rd Corpus Christi

Volunteers are needed at Angel Bright Hospice, Inc. to offer support to hospice patients by assisting with errands, preparing light meals, housekeeping, providing general companionship. Blue Sky Hospice, Inc.

Volunteering could be one of the most rewarding things you will ever do. Blue Sky Hospice is seeking volunteers to assist with some support including sitting with patients, running errands or doing some light housekeeping for the patient and family. We are also looking for office support volunteers to include; but not limited to: Answering phones, data entry, mailings and photocopying.

Deaf & Disabled Ministry

The Deaf and Disabled Ministry of the Diocese of Corpus Christi is looking for your help. They are in dire need of two or three volunteer drivers to pick-up and take home deaf individuals who attend the church at the Immaculate Conception Chapel on Saratoga on Sundays. No special license is required. Also, needed is a volunteer CCD teacher to help with the large class on Sunday mornings. For further information, please contact Celia or Aurora at 361-884-0651.

Nursing Home Advocates
Call the Coastal Bend Area Agency on Aging Ombudsman Program at 1-800-817-5743.

Dedicated volunteers are needed to serve as nursing home advocates. Volunteers receive certification training, visit nursing homes to advocate for quality care, and protect resident's rights. If you are Tough Enough to Care, can be objective, and can work independently, we want to talk with you. Call the Coastal Bend Area Agency on Aging Ombudsman Program at 1-800-817-5743.

Vista Care Hospice

Volunteers are needed to spend an hour or two a week visiting patients in the Coastal Bend in their homes, nursing homes, or in our Inpatient Unit at Trinity Towers, 101 N. Upper Broadway. A person who has experienced the healing intervention of God during their own personal loss or crisis may be well suited for this special ministry. Jail Ministry is Rewarding
The coordinator is Pedro Costilla, cell: 361-960-4798, and the Jail Ministry secretary is Adelfa M. Martinez, home: 361-852-1175.

Volunteers visit the Nueces County Jail on Saturdays for about one hour from 7:30 a.m. - 9 a.m. The SATF is held at the annex on Tuesday night for two hours serving those in drug rehab. The coordinator is Pedro Costilla, cell: 361-960-4798, and the Jail Ministry secretary is Adelfa M. Martinez, home: 361-852-1175. Please call for training. Father Eduardo Montemayor, SOLT, is present at the informational meetings.

Brush Country CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), located in Kingsville, is looking for people/person that would be willing to speak up for the abused and neglected children in Kleberg, Kenedy, Brooks, Duval and Jim Wells Counties. Come and be the ears and eyes for the court to achieve a safe and permanent home for the children

Open your heart to a child who needs your love and a home. The Children's Shelter is seeking loving individuals, single or married, willing to foster or adopt a child who has been abused, abandoned, or neglected. You can help by caring for babies, toddlers, sibling groups, all children from 0 to 17 years of age. Please RSVP for one of our Inquiry Meetings held every first Tuesday at noon and third Tuesday at 6 p.m. every month. Please call Stephanie De Los Santos at 361-289-2824.

Drivers Needed-The American Cancer Society

Can you spare an hour or two each week? Every day there are Corpus Christi cancer patients who need a ride to their doctor's offices and are unable to get to their life-saving treatments. Many patients need daily or weekly treatments but do not have a car, are too ill to drive, and/or don't have family or friends who can take them. You can help save a life by volunteering as a driver. Please donate an hour a week of your time to give a ride to cancer patients so that they can receive their life-saving treatment. Contact The American Cancer Society to schedule a training at 4101 S.
