ANYTIME EVENTS
 
ANNOINTING OF THE CATECHUMENS may be celebrated several times during the course of the catechumenate- no. 100. "Anointing with the oil of Catechumens is reserved for use in the period of the catechumenate and in the period of purification and enlightenment and is not be included in the preparation rites on Holy Saturday or in the celebration of initiation at the Easter Vigil or at another time."(no.8)

January 17, 2009 Ministries Day Conference  (American Bank Center.)
The annual conference will include training to benefit all ministries, including initiation and RCIA. The conference is scheduled for Saturday, January 17, 2009, at the American Bank Center.
January 31, 2009 Diocesan RCIA Retreat at Schoenstatt in Lamar, Texas  (Lamar, Texas)

March 1, 2009 Liturgical Celebrations at Corpus Christi Cathedral  ( Corpus Christi Cathedral)
Please plan to arrive 30 minutes early to ensure parking and seating.
March 1, 2009 Parish Optional Rite of Sending  (Corpus Christi Cathedral)
Nos. 434-444 (In anticipation of the Rite of Election to be celebrated at the Cathedral at 3:30 p.m.)
March 8, 2009 Parish Penitential Rite for Candidates 
Nos. 459 -471 (May also be used as part of a communal parish penitential service.)
March 15, 2009 First Scrutiny 
Intended for Elect (Unbaptized)- nos. 150-155 (Baptized Candidates are given a place of honor within the assembly. If the baptized are to be included in the Scrutiny, the words must be adapted.)
March 15, 2009 Presentation of the Creed 
Nos. 157- 163 during the week unless anticipated and presented earlier - nos. 21 (79, 104-105) Presentation of the Creed is appropriate for those who are unbaptized and also for those baptized, but uncatechized. The Creed should never be presented to baptized, catechized Christians.
March 22, 2009 Second Scrutiny 
Intended for Elect (Unbaptized)- nos. 164-170 (Baptized Candidates are given a place of honor within the assembly. If the baptized are to be included in the Scrutiny, the words must be adapted.)
March 29, 2009 Third Scrutiny 
Intended for Elect (Unbaptized)- nos. 171-183 (Baptized Candidates are given a place of honor within the assembly. If the baptized are to be included in the Scrutiny, the words must be adapted.)
March 29, 2009 Presentation of the Lord's Prayer 
During the week unless anticipated (nos. 6 and 105) or deferred (no. 176) until the Preparation Rites of Holy Saturday - nos. 176-184.
April 7, 2009 Holy Saturday Preparation Rites

April 11, 2009 Celebration at Easter Vigil of the Sacraments of Initiation into the Full Communion of the Catholic Church

April 18, 2009 Begin Masses for Neophytes 
Nos. 25, 247-248 "On all the Sundays of the Easter season after Easter Sunday, the so-called Masses for neophytes are to be scheduled. The entire community and the newly baptized with their godparents should be encouraged to participate.
