Dear Inquirer,

It is my pleasure to present to you this website for the Vocation Office of the Diocese of Corpus Christi. Since coming to the diocese in March, 2000, as its seventh ordinary, I have been impressed by the deep faith and spirit of devotion among the Catholic people of South Texas. There is a deep love and respect for their priests, and there is likewise among the clergy a great enthusiasm and dedication to their ministry. Working with our priests are many religious men and women whose presence has been foundational for the Church in South Texas.

Particularly heartening for the New Millennium is the steady stream of young men from local parishes who are drawn to Jesus in the Eucharist, and who express interest in serving as priests. Our diocesan seminarians (and others who are discerning religious vocations) represent the fruit of much prayer, and are signs of God's blessing upon this corner of His vineyard.

I hope you will find the information of this website useful in your quest to learn more about God's special calling in the Church.

With Prayerful Best wishes,

I remain yours in Christ,

The Most Reverend Edmond Carmody, D.D. Bishop of Corpus Christi
