Pope Francis has sent a message to the president of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, who will preside over the forthcoming meeting of the G20 group representing the world's largest economies.

On Sunday, Sept. 7, citing the many conflicts around the world and specially in Syria, Pope Francis called for a vigil by the Catholic Church around the world, a day of fasting and prayer for peace in Syria and the Middle East. “My heart is deeply wounded in particular by what is happening in Syria," the Holy Father said.

Veterans interested in starting or growing a business will get a unique opportunity to 'jump start" their business by attending a free Entrepreneurship Boot Camp sponsored by Momentum Texas Inc. (MTI), a statewide nonprofit, and the Texas Workforce Commission on Sept. 13. A Homeless Veteran Stand Down is coming to Corpus Christi on Sept. 13, starting at 9 a.m. at the Salvation Army Corps Building, located at 1802 Buford Street. The Department of Veterans Affairs is in the third year of the National Goal to end Veteran Homelessness.
