Father Charles Doherty, who served as pastor at Our Lady of Assumption parish in Ingleside and in the Diocese of Corpus Christi for many years, died May 9. He had recently celebrated his 90th birthday at Our Lady of Assumption Parish on Oct. 15, 2017.

Students and families from Sacred Heart School in Rockport participated in a STREAM Fair and PTA Meeting on May 7. The students and families, assembled with the Cafeteria and Gym and enjoyed the variety of displays and projects. Robotics and coding were popular aspects of the STREAM fair.

Incarnate Word Academy excitingly welcomed author Diana Lopez to its campus on Thursday, May 3 in the school’s James R. Dougherty, Jr. Center. A Corpus Christi native, Lopez shared stories with Elementary and Middle-Level students about growing up in the city and offered Angel's insight into how she became an author. Lopez recently penned the novelization of the hit Disney-Pixar animated film “Coco” as well as her upcoming book set in Corpus Christi titled “Lucky Luna.”
