The annual women's conference hosted by Catholic Daughters of the Americas Father Buergler Court 2433, Mary: Mother of Light will take place April 22, 2013 at St. Theresa of the Little Flower Parish Hall, 1302 Lantana, 78407 from 8 am (Mass) until 12:15 pm.
Women age 16 and up are invited to attend a spiritual morning designed to speak directly to women and the challenges they face living their faith in the family, the community and the world. Presenters & Presentations: In the opening presentation, “Let there be Light,” Deacon Stephen Nolte will explore how God’s Word gives light and order to creation. With light comes reason and with reason comes truth. Jesus is “the Light of the World” and Mary, as his mother is Mother of Light. Deacon serves as Chaplain to Fr. Thomas Buergler Court # 2433. Fr. Raju Thottankara, pastor of St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church in Corpus Christi, will address the theological implications of Mary as Mother of Light, the most perfect instrument to reflect the light of her Son, Jesus, the Light of the World. From the beginning of creation Jesus has brought light to mankind and the world. Fr. Raju has been a priest for 27 years. Tina Villegas is a wife, mother of 3 and grandmother of 9. She has worked in various capacities in the private sector and for the Church both on parochial and diocesan levels. She brings her experiences of times of joy and darkness, loss and hope in a manner that will offer to bring enlightenment to those in attendance.
