Sister Celia honored on her 50th Anniversary of consecrated life

A Mass of Thanksgiving was held on Aug. 23 in honor of Sister Celia Hernández, MJMJ who celebrated 50 years of service to the Church in El Paso and Corpus Christi. The ceremony was held in the chapel at Mount Tabor Convent, home to the Missionary Sisters of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Mass was concelebrated by two of "her boys" from Corpus Christi Minor Seminary School, Msgr. Roger Smith and Msgr. Michael Howell.

Also concelebrating Mass was Father Varghese Ethappiri.

The chapel was filled with Sister Celia's family, friends, staff members and children from The Ark as well as many sisters from different congregations in Corpus Christi.
