Cande DeLeon, director of Parish Stewardship and Development for the Diocese of Corpus Christi, was among 40 individuals honored by the Corpus Christi Under 40 program on Tuesday, Jan. 27. The program honors men and women dedicated to making a difference in Corpus Christi.
The recognition was made at the Mayor's breakfast at the Congressman Solomon Ortiz International Center.
Bishop Michael Mulvey thanked DeLeon for his "dedicated service and making a difference in our community."
The 40 receiving recognition come from various fields, such as, education, health care and technology. They are "individuals with the perseverance and determination that create culture and opportunity for others in our community," says the organization's Web site.
The event honors "the accomplishments of men and women under 40 years of age who have made significant contributions in their professional fields as well as through service in the community."
The program gives a percentage of its proceeds to charity.
