IWA hosts Golf Classic Tournament

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Incarnate Word Academy kicked off the new school year with the Golf Classic Tournament on Aug. 5 at the Northshore Country Club in Portland.

All 25 teams had a great time. Team Mr. and Mrs. Grant Ritchie won the tournament. Team members were Grant Ritchie, Jordan Harwell, Mike Dennis and Butch Harris. Thank you to all of the sponsors of the golf tournament.

The tournament format was a Florida Scramble: Four balls are hit from the best position as determined by each time. The Golf Classic will also include contests for Closest to the Pin, Longest Drive, and Hole in One. The prize for the Golf Classic is a set of custom-made Callaway Irons, sponsored by Edwin Watts Golf Shops.

Proceeds from the Golf Classic directly benefit the IWA Athletic Program.
