IWA observes Mass for Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord and the Incarnation

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Incarnate Word Academy held a campus-wide Mass for the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord and the Incarnation on Monday, April 8, at the high school level’s Gunning Gymnasium with Msgr. Roger Smith as celebrant.

The Solemnity of the Annunciation usually falls on March 25, but since this year the date fell on Holy Week, the celebration of the Annunciation transferred to the day after Divine Mercy Sunday.

A reception followed in the high school level’s senior lounge. As part of its efforts to unite the school with families and the community, IWA welcomed its grandparents and contributors to celebrate Mass with students, faculty and staff.

“Today’s campus-wide Mass is a perfect example of IWA’s teachings in the belief of Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Word, and His message of love for the world,” school spokesman Dominique Damian said.
