Lady Angels head to TAPPS State Softball Tournament

The varsity softball team is advancing to the final four in the TAPPS State Softball Tournament. The Lady Angels will play Houston Lutheran South on Thursday, May 14 at 9 a.m. at the Waco ISD Sports Complex in Waco.

The team is headed to state after defeating Holy Cross 8-1 at the TAPPS Regional Softball Game on May 7 in College Station.

In addition, the girls were also named co-champions in district with a district record of 10-2. They tied with St. John Paul II High School, but were named No. 1 seed by a run differential.

“I am very proud of the team and the improvements they continue to make each game,” IWA Softball Coach Robert Perez said.
