Parishioners at Most Precious Blood joined Bishop Michael Mulvey in the dedication and blessing of the parish's new St. Maria Goretti Youth Center on Monday. Aug. 25.
"Today, we give thanks to God and ask his blessing on this youth center where children will learn the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and where the life of Christ and the Church will be brought to life," Father Bob Dunn, pastor of Most Precious Blood, said.
The project was realized through contributions from 831 benefactors, including some who were not from the parish. The Kenedy Memorial Foundation also donated towards the completion of the St. Maria Goretti Youth Center. Mark Bolus served as Capital Campaign chairman.
Pat Norrell, the parish plant manager, oversaw the work of Barcom Construction who built the center designed by architect Emily Rozypal. Deacon Ken Bockholt gave many hours in constructing many of the shelves and wooden projects. Lee Bockholt, Director of Religious Education and the many individuals, gave many hours to prepare the materials needed for the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program.
"I want to congratulate Father Dunn and all parishioners at Most Precious Blood on the completion and dedication of the St. Maria Goretti Youth Center," Bishop Mulvey said.
