Catholic Charities held a grand opening, unveiling, dedication and blessing of Mother Teresa Transitional Housing located at the intersection of Mexico and Mestina on March 23. Bishop Wm. Michael Mulvey blessed the complex and several officials and digniitaries were present for the ceremony.
The 8,000 square foot facility features 24 secure single rooms, a shared kitchen,dining room, and living area. Three cooked meals and two snacks a day, laundry facilities and a dog kennel are also included. The entire building complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
With safety being a priority, the facility is completely enclosed. The transitional housing building will be fully staffed 24-hours with a mental health and behavioral case manager on-staff during the day. Residents are expected to move-in the first week of April 2012.
