The National Eucharistic Revival is now in its second year, which means that every parish should foster moments to deepen the understanding of the Eucharist, offering adoration and education on the local level. All the efforts will culminate in next year's National Eucharistic Congress – the first in 83 years!
It will take place in Indianapolis, Indiana, from July 17-21, and the Committee preparing this historic event expects up to 80,000 pilgrims. The kick-off will be on Wednesday afternoon, July 17, with a huge Eucharistic procession, uniting 4 pilgrimages from the four corners of the country.
The next three days are filled with Catechetical sessions presented by renowned speakers. Participants can choose different tracks, with special programs for families and youth. A closing Mass on Sunday, July 21, will send the participants as Eucharistic missionaries back to their dioceses.
This “once in a lifetime event” could be described as a World Youth Day for the whole family – it offers the possibility to get to know Catholics from all over the U.S. and attend catechetical sessions geared toward different audiences, all with the goal to celebrate and receive the Eucharistic in an always more conscious way.
Bishop Michael Mulvey has reserved 100 tickets for our diocese and will accompany the Diocesan group. Corporate Travel, a company specializing in pilgrimages, offers a package that includes accommodations with breakfast and the NEC pass for all five days. The price for adult participants starts at $799 (triple or quadruple bedroom).
