The Incarnate Word Academy High School Level Mission Team was recognized on June 8 at the
Nueces County Courthouse for their dedication to the community.
Nueces County Commissioners recognized some of the students who were in attendance for their participation in local service projects which took place in April. These service projects
benefitted the Mother Teresa Shelter, the Salvation Army, and the
Colonias near
Robstown.
At the Mother Teresa Shelter, students replanted garden beds and assisted with preparations for a new storage facility. Other students painted the dining area and kitchen at the Salvation Army which provides transitional housing for intact-families and military veterans experiencing homelessness. A smaller group went to serve people living in the
Colonias near
Robstown which lack the infrastructure to provide clean drinking water.
