The Office of Catholic Schools begins the school year with a Spiritual Day for diocesan and parochial teachers in the Diocese of Corpus Christi on Aug. 8. The event was held in the Cafetorium at St. John Paul High School. The event began with the celebration of Mass by newly ordained Father Charles Silvas, who happens to be an alumnus of St. John Paul High School.
Father Peter Marsalek, General Priest Servant from the Society of the Most Holy Trinity, gave two presentations in the morning and two presentations in the afternoon. His morning topics focused on living in the image and likeness of God and sharing the Word of God in Catholic education. His afternoon topics were Natural Law in Catholic Education and Catholic formation into authentic freedom.
