Sister Christina Bradley (Anna Marie), a Sister of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament of Corpus Christi, was welcomed into eternal life by her loving God on Monday, September 11, 2023. She is survived by two sisters, Sister Marian Bradley and Christina Bradley, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sister Christina entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament on July 19, 1946, at the age of 14 and went through the formation with her older sister, Sister Margaret Patrice, and both made their first profession of vows on March 29, 1948. She professed perpetual vows on October 25, 1952, and celebrated her 75th Jubilee of profession on April 15, 2023.
She earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education from Incarnate Word College in San Antonio and the Association Montessori International Diploma from the Montessori Institute in Washington, D.C. She has taught in many schools in the Diocese of Corpus Christi, served as Principal of Cathedral School and was Principal and teacher of Incarnate Word Montessori School for 37 years. In addition, she trained Montessori teachers in the South Texas area.
Sr. Christina said that one of her greatest pleasures was working with the youngest Montessori students, who “were a source of joy and kept me young at heart. In her retirement, she enjoyed solving the jumble puzzle in the Caller-Times Newspaper and cracking jokes. Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Service will provide funeral arrangements.
