Purpose, connection, healing, nourishment –– the answer to every longing of the human heart is contained in the gift of the Holy Eucharist. This year, the Solemnity of Corpus Christi (June 19), marks the beginning of the National Eucharistic Revival, a three-year grassroots initiative of devotion and belief in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist led by the Bishops of the United States in response to the Holy Spirit’s invitation to renewal. It takes time to kindle a living, loving relationship—and a relationship with Jesus Christ is no exception. That’s why the Eucharistic Revival allows three years for discernment, encounter, and grassroots response on the diocesan, parish, and individual levels.
