  • Join Us for Catholic Advocacy Day in Austin!

    • The Diocese of Corpus Christi invites you to be part of Catholic Advocacy Day  on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 11:30 AM at the Texas State Capitol in Austin. This special day, organized by the Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops, brings together Catholics from across the state to pray and advocate for important issues with our legislators.

      Details:

      • Transportation: Travel with us on a chartered bus (50 seats available).
      • Cost: $20 per person (fee covers seat reservation).
      • Perks: Every registered participant receives a FREE T-shirt while supplies last. Please provide your shirt size when registering.
      • Eligibility: Open to all adults and families in the Diocese of Corpus Christi. Minors under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

      Seating is limited, so don’t wait! Secure your seat by registering and submitting your $20 reservation fee. T-shirts are available while supplies last. Let’s unite as a diocese to make our voices heard in Austin. Register Today!


  • Itinerary 

    • Tentative Schedule for our trip to the capitol:

      5:00 am - Buses arrive at St. John Paul II High School (gates must be opened 10 minutes before)

      5:15 am – Start boarding buses (confirm attendees and forms and shirts)

      5:30 am – Buses depart St. JPII High School

      8:30 – 8:45 am – Buses arrive at Buc-ee’s in New Braunfels (food & bathroom break)

      9:00 – 9:15 am – Buses depart Buc-ee’s to Austin State Capital

      10:00 – 10:30 am – Buses arrive in Austin State Capital drop off

       

      09:00 am – First student one-hour Mock Hearing (for students and chaperones only – St. JPII students will not arrive on time for this)

      10:15 am - Second student one-hour Mock Hearing (for students and chaperones only)

      10:15 am – Adults and families visit with representatives (pre-scheduled)

      11:30 am – Rally Begins (EVERYONE at the front steps of the Capital)

      12:15 pm – LUNCH (being provided to everyone on the grounds by the bishops – Free and served until 2:00 pm or when food is out)

      12:15 pm – Third student one-hour Mock Hearing (for students and chaperones only)

      1:30 pm – Adults and families continue with visits with representatives (pre-scheduled)

      1:30 pm – Fourth student one-hour Mock Hearing (for students and chaperones only)

       

      3:00 – 3:30 pm – Buses depart from State Capital

      4:00 – 4:30 pm – Buses arrive at Buc-ee’s in New Braunfels (food & bathroom break)

      5:00 – 5:30 pm – Buses depart Buc-ee’s

      7:00 – 8:00 pm – Buses arrive St. JPII High School

       

      * Everyone traveling on these buses must have completed the liability form online or on paper to participate. Everyone on the buses must follow all the instructions from the bus drivers and the bus leaders.

      ** This schedule is the best estimate for the day’s event (weather and traffic are unpredictable)
